The narratives of the coronation of Marie de Medici: from the anecdote to the dark tales
The coronation is an important event that marks the life of French queens during a sumptuous ceremony. However, this event is hardly repeated by the authors. This is especially true for Marie de Medici crowned on May 13, 1610. Indeed by analyzing a corpus of a hundred books of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries we notice that this event is rarely described. Nevertheless Marie de Medici is regularly mentioned by these same authors who are interested in her regency. It will therefore be a question of understanding why the coronation of Marie de Medici is passed over in silence despite its historical interest.
