An Anthropological Critique in the Era of Globalisation?
This article revisits the notion of critique – derived from philosophy, of import to sociology – and show its various applications to anthropology, first of all in the perspective of critical events and fragments of the past fifty years. The author then identifies the contradictions and tensions that imprint anthropological praxis and conceptualisation in a globalized world. She insists on the political aspect on the one hand, and the subject proper on the other, which together make up the major themes calling for efforts at retotalising intelligibility.
